The installer will do a few things with the system, but one thing I want it to do is silently install VLC player.

I sometime like to move forward/backward in the moive by just a little, but find it difficult to do so. WIth Windows Media Player, this is not a problem. I think this has to do with the size of the button, so hopefully can be changed. Top Post Reply

VLC shouldn't have any way to mess up sounds in Windows. So your soundcard doesn't work at all after VLC install? Does this same behavior happen if you download .zip version and unzip it to somewhere and start VLC from there? In what mediaplayer you tried the DVD playback that gave you no sound?

I just installed vlc 0.7.1 (wxWindows interface) and can't seem to get it work at all. When I play a file, the audio appears to play back fine, but for video all I see is vertical bars of different shades of gray.
